Dogs have been known to be an effective protection for your home. They can be extremely loyal to their human family, and would do anything to protect them. Some of the most popular Family Protection Dogs are no longer new to us. The German Shepherd consistently rank among the most popular. They are loyal and have high intelligence. They are gentle, loving and patient with children. Great Danes are popular for their massive size – perfect for scaring burglars. But they are loving pets as well. The Doberman and Rottweiler are common choice for their intimidating looks. They are perfect for guarding the house. Although aggression is the common thinking when these breeds are mentioned, that behavior can be corrected through proper training of the dog. Otherwise, the police or the military would not use Dobermans to assist them with their work. Another common choice is the Boxer. They are energetic and playful but very good with kids. Selecting a guard dog needs some research and reading. Of course, you won’t be picking Pugs or Chihuahuas to protect your home, or a Pit Bull to play with your children. But with proper training, any dog can be an effective guard for your home, may it be physical protection or just raising the alarm.
But your pets need protection as well. Protection from diseases could be one thing. Not only humans are susceptible to illness but also our Protection Dogs. They can’t verbally communicate with you, so as a responsible owner, be sure to watch for sign and symptoms of illness, such as lack of movement, change in behavior, low appetite, etc. Be sure to go to your vet to immediately help your loving pet.
